I’ve been preaching three letters for years now. SYM. Save your money. Finally somebody’s listening.
Dolphins D-lineman A.J. Francis. He’s not only saving his money, he’s making more of it when he’s off the job. My man has decided to work for Uber, and has applied to be hired as a personal driver.
As to the question of WHY? …Why would an NFL player want to spend his free time driving drunk people home? I’ll let A.J. handle that: “People ask me why would you want to be an @uber driver if you play in the NFL… You know what’s better than NFL money? More money.”
PREACH! You want to clown this guy?. He’ll be the one laughing 20, 30, 40 years from now when he’s still wealthy and some of his former teammates can’t even afford to hire him for a ride.
This isn’t Ryan Tannehill becoming a cab driver. It’s not Ndamukong Suh mowing lawns. I don’t’ expect Cameron Wake to have a paper route. Because none of those guys need one. A.J. Francis has been a practice squad player, he’s making just over 500 grand next year, with no bonus. Great money. But not- I’m going to sit around in the offseason and do nothing- Money.
And besides, being an Uber driver is a chill job. Get to cruise around in your own sled, roll down the windows, bump some tunes, meet people, have conversation -and get paid.
If you order an Uber, and you see a 300-poudner rolling up in a Dodge Charger, you’re about to roll with an NFLer. You’re getting a ride. He’s getting PAID. And remember- what’s the one thing that’s better than NFL money? MORE MONEY.
