Britt Castillo

Sergeant Castillo was born on April 10th, 1986 in Lubbock, TX. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 06 July 2006. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. After completing Marine Corps Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California, he attended MOS school in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for Motor Transportation Operators course.

In January 2007, Sergeant Castillo reported to the 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 3rd Marine Air Wing, Marine Wing Support Squadron 172 in Okinawa, Japan and served as a Semi-Refueler Operator. In March 2007, while assigned to MWSS-172, he was promoted to the rank of Private First Class. In September 2007, with Motor Transportation Instruction Company and serving as a student, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In March 2008, Sergeant Castillo deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as a Semi-Refueler Operator. During his tour in October 2008 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. After a successful tour, he received orders to 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Maintenance Battalion, Camp Pendleton California serving as a Vehicle Recovery Specialist. In March of 2010, Sergeant Castillo deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion 5 as a Vehicle Recovery Specialist to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

 

In January 2011, Sergeant Castillo received orders to Marine Corps Detachment Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, Motor Transportation Instruction Company where he served as an Instructor for Semi-Refueler and Vehicle Recovery Advanced Schools. In November 2011, Sergeant Castillo was promoted to his current rank.
In October 2012, Sergeant Castillo received orders to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California, Class 1-13. In January 2013, Sergeant Castillo reported to Recruit Training Regiment, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Company I.

 

Sergeant Castillo’s personal decorations include, (2) Good Conduct Medals, (3) Certificates of Commendation, and (3) Meritorious Mast.

 

In September 2009, Sergeant Castillo married the former Elena M. Jarramillo of Austin, TX. They have 3 boys; Dominic age 11, Maddox age 4, and Gavin age 2.
