SERGEANT NICHOLAS DESIMONE III

Sergeant De Simone was born on December 6th, 1985 in Long Island, NY. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 28 September 2007. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina where he was promoted to the rank of Private First Class meritoriously. After completing Marine Corps Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, he attended MOS school in Aberdeen Maryland for the Towed Artillery Technicians course.

In June 2008, Sergeant De Simone reported to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 3rd Battalion 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division 29 Palms, CA and served as a Towed Artillery Mechanic, Headquarters Battery. In September 2008, assigned to Headquarters battery Artillery Mechanic, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. In December 2008, with Headquarters battery, serving as the Ordnance Quality Control NCO, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal for Marine of the quarter, meritorious promotion board, standing out amongst his peers.

In May 2009, Sergeant De Simone was deployed with India Battery to Afghanistan as a battery Artillery Mechanic. After a successful tour, he completed Corporal’s Course 1-10 and graduated 2nd in his class, on June 25, 2010. Sergeant De Simone then Deployed with Mike Battery to Okinawa as part of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
In August 2011, Sergeant De Simone was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant and was assigned the Battalion Ordnance Chief for 3rd Battalion 11th Marines Regiment.

In April 2012, Sergeant De Simone received orders to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California, Class 3-12 where he graduated as 3rd honor graduate and class “iron man”. In July 2012, Sergeant De Simone reported to Recruit Training Regiment, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Company C.

Sergeant De Simone’s personal decorations include (1) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, (1) Combat Action Ribbon, (1) Navy Unit Commendation, (2) Good Conduct Medals, (7) Certificates of Commendation, and (8) Meritorious Mast.

Sergeant De Simone is married to the former Chasity Princess Scott.
