Tuesday afternoon, the Padres announced that outfielder Will Venable had been traded to the Texas Rangers for minor league catcher Marcus Greene Jr. and a player to be named later. Who that second player is, is still a mystery. All Preller said is that he is a “key piece of the deal” and is “closer to the big leagues.”
