Padres catcher Rocky Gale took a six-year journey to the Big Leagues

Rocky Gale spent six seasons in the minors before getting the call-up to the Big Club. Hear him talk about what it means to him and how Padres manager Pat Murphy broke the news.


NOTES FROM PADRES’ 10-7 WIN OVER DODGERS THURSDAY NIGHT:

**After a few lead changes, the Padres scored four times in the eighth inning to put them ahead. Jedd Gyorko’s two-run homer to left center made it 10-7, San Diego. It was Gyorko’s 11th home run of the season.

**Yangervis Solarte was a triple shy of the cycle. His home run to the Western Metal Supply Building was the 14th in history to reach the third deck of that building. It was Solarte’s 12th home run of the season.

**Melvin Upton has three hits in his last four pinch-hit at-bats.

**Starting pitcher Colin Rea recorded a career-high six strikeouts.

**Matt Kemp extended his on-base streak to 23 consecutive games (season and career-best).

**Catcher Derek Norris recorded his 36th catcher-caught-stealing, the most in the Major Leagues and a career-high for Norris.

**With this win, the Padres are 65-69 on the season.
