Remembering Nick Brown

Nick Brown, a sophomore at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo passed away last Sunday morning while home here in San Diego for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Nick grew up in the Rancho Penasquitos community here in San Diego and participated in many of the local youth sports programs. While playing Little League baseball, he had the opportunity to warm up with the San Diego Padres at Petco Park on Little League day, and was the Little League Baseball representative in Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes’ “Earn Your Stripes” program.

Nick was a graduate of Westview High School, and an avid sports fan. While at Westview, Nick started on the Varsity Baseball and Football teams, earning First Team All Palomar League honors his Senior Year and the opportunity to play in the Spanos All-Star Game. When not on the field, Nick was a fixture in the “Black Hole”, the student spirit section at Westview. Nick loved regularly attending Padre games with his father, a season ticket holder.

As someone that regularly attended Mighty 1090 events, Nick Brown is and was considered a member of our extended family. We are heartbroken by this tragedy. Please consider donating to the Nick Brown Memorial Fund, which goes towards his family’s memorial costs.
