Video: Mike McCoy and Antonio Gates on Eric Weddle’s fine & what he’s meant as a teammate

Eric Weddle was fined $10,000 by the Chargers organization for staying on the field to watch his daughter’s half time performance in the team’s home finale. It wasn’t the act of watching his daughter’s performance yet likely the omission of getting permission. Yet understandably, Weddle’s feathers are ruffled.

To add insult to his season-ending injury, Weddle was placed on IR and told that he would not be allowed to fly with the team to Denver for the last game of the year, citing a lack of space on the team charter.

Yes, there are 17 players on injured-reserve.  But we’re talking about Weddle, not Tourek  Williams.

Mike McCoy discussed the decision to fine Weddle and Antonio Gates spoke of how much Weddle has meant to the organization, and what he thinks of the fine.
