The very first practice of the year for the San Diego Chargers may well be their final practice ever in San Diego.
But it was the last practice ever for Chargers beloved wide receiver Malcom Floyd, who will retire after the season. The soft-spoken Floyd, as nice a human being as I’ve ever met, was honored by his Chargers teammates in the final Friday practice. Instead of wearing their normal practice jerseys, players and coaches wore dark blue shirts with “Thank You #80” on the back and a signature picture of Floyd dunking over a goal post on the front.
Floyd spoke about the emotions of his final week and being honored by his teammates.
