Chargers announce contract extension for McCoy through 2017

Some San Diego Chargers fans thought that the team may move on from their Head Coach, Mike McCoy, after the 2015 NFL season. Not only did his team finish with a 4-12 record, but McCoy was heading into the final season of his four-year contract with the team. The concern was that players may not respect a Head Coach that is not signed to be with the team the following season.

Well, that concern is gone now, as the team’s General Manager announced today that a contract extension has been signed between the team and McCoy, adding one more year on to the back of his contract.

It’s obvious now that the team’s ownership confident that the Chargers can get to the NFL Playoffs, and beyond, with Tom Telesco and Mike McCoy running the team.
