MLB.com: Padres sign former White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez to 1-year deal

The San Diego Padres have been searching for a starting shortstop for over a year, and it appears that they’ve finally found one.

Multiple reports are now coming out that say that the team has agreed to a one-year contract with former Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez, a 2014 All-Star and a Silver-Slugger Award-Winner in 2010 and 2014.
