Padres reportedly sign RHP Fernando Rodney

Fernando Rodney

After trading away Craig Kimbrel and Joaquin Benoit this offseason, the San Diego Padres were in the market for a closer.

It appears that they have now found one, as reports have come out that the team has agreed on contract terms with 13-year veteran Fernando Rodney.

Rodney has 236 career saves, and has notched more than 35 saves in four separate MLB seasons. Last season he finished with 16 saves while splitting time between the Seattle Mariners and the Chicago Cubs.
