Von’s In A Tough Spot

Hard to imagine for a guy coming off a Super Bowl win and angling to become the highest paid defensive player in history…. but Von Miller is in a tough spot.

Because everybody wants to talk to him, and everybody has to ask him about Johnny Manziel.

Von’s career’s exploding, Manziel’s entire life is imploding. Right now as football players they couldn’t be more different guys- but since they’re both A&M guys, Von tries to talk up his guy.

While it would seem impossible to do, it’s really not that unusual. Dudes from the same program always pick each other up. Buckeyes have other Buckeyes’ backs. Guys from The U go to war for each other. It’s just that Von got saddled with the biggest bleep-up in all of football. So he has to work hard to have his back.

He came into the Jungle last month after the Super Bowl win, and he shared why he shouted out to Manziel after winning MVP.

Now he did an interview with GQ, Johnny came up like always, and Von even said Football may be a future teammate. “Not only will he be back in the league – of course I’m biased – I still feel like he has a lot of game left in him. Some of the stuff he was doing in college, he going to do the exact same thing in the National Football League. …Who knows? You might see Johnny Manziel in Denver.”

No you won’t. I’ll just say it. Again, Von has his guy’s back. I get it. He went to A&M. But John Elway didn’t. Gary Kubiak didn’t.

And I just don’t think they’re going to follow up a quarterback who’s going to the Hall of Fame, with one who went to rehab. About the only thing Johnny  Manziel and Pinkie Manning have in common is they both did stupid things in college. Allegedly.

Considering Johnny currently has a pending domestic violence case against him that was referred to a grand jury, he’d have to have Peyton Manning’s ability. He’s not even close.

As always with Manziel… he’s not good enough to be worth the trouble. The Billy Football juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

Bad Take, ODB

Odell Beckham Jr is a playmaker. But he’s convinced himself that he’s also a star maker. And he’s wrong. Speaking to GQ, it actually sounds like he’s taking credit for Josh Norman’s career, quote: “The reason he’s

Jets v. Fitzfatrick

This is as Jets as it gets. Less than a week from now, they’ll be on the practice field. And it looks like their alleged starting quarterback will be on the golf course. That’s where Ryan Fitzpatrick is
