Chargers agree to terms to re-sign TE Antonio Gates

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates

According to that report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms to keep star Tight End Antonio Gates on the team before he hit free agency this afternoon.

On a 2-year deal, it’s a pretty safe bet that this will be the last contract that Gates signs before retiring from the league, meaning he will have spent his entire career with just the San Diego Chargers.

2016 will be Antonio Gates’ 14th season in the league. In 13 years, he has racked up 10,644 receiving yards and 104 touchdown catches.
