After missing out on the NCAA Tournament today, the San Diego State Aztecs men’s basketball team was picked as a #2 seed in the NIT Tournament and will face the Indiana-Purdue University-Fort Wayne (IPFW) basketball team in the first round on Tuesday.

The game will take place at Viejas Arena, giving SDSU fans at least one more chance to cheer on the 2015-2016 Aztecs basketball team. For those that can’t go to the game, you can tune in and listen to the action on The Mighty 1090AM radio station or stream it on The Mighty 1090 smartphone app.

I support the Aztecs. My son is the sports editor for the Daily Aztec. I just think with as well as we played and ruled we should have been selected for the NCAA Tournament. GO AZTECS!!!!!!!!

Well, my husband and I just drove home from Vegas, and are actually very excited to see them hopefully play at home-after the expense of hotel, tickets, eating, missing work, etc. Our Aztec Fans were the best there and I am one proud Aztec! Thanks go to Fisher and the boys for giving us a fun run to the Championship Game! We loved being there as they beat Utah and then University of Nevada (in their home state, no less.) You had to have been there for those two wins! I’d rather be an Aztec than an Aggie or Wolf, ANY DAY!!! Keep your chins up boys!!! (And keep your hands up in their faces in defense and knees bent when shooting free throws…)

If these boys were your sons, you would hopefully say something positive and encouraging.

They are just students, after all…

Bill and I are proud of all of you coaches and players-you are class acts! Go Aztecs!!!

Recruiting the wrong type of players finally caught up to them. Typical great athleticism, without any skill set to shoot the ball consistently and a general lack of court intelligence has been their problem for years.

The NCAA Selection Committee caught up with them. This is the best team they’ve had in years, but the selection committee is picking teams in the bottom half of “power” conferences based on the conference, not on whether the team chosen can actually win. Only an idiot like those on the selection committee is able to perform the mental gymnastics necessary to believe that the 7th best team in the PAC 12 is actually better than SDSU.

I understand they got jobed, but had they been able to win those games, USD really, they would be in. You have to beat Fresno St.

What’s wrong with the Aztecs?

What’s wrong with the Aztecs? Steve Fisher has left no stone unturned in trying to figure it out. Plus, Captains Trey Kell and Dakarai Allen on righting the ship, and playing with a shuffling lineup because of
