Willett Earned It

You know Danny Willett’s a good dude, because your 2016 Masters Champ isn’t getting the run he deserves. Nearly everyone is talking about the way Jordan Spieth lost as opposed to the way Willett won. I did it myself. Still, Willett is rolling with it all, without a single complaint. Not one you do know I shot a bogey free, 5 under 67 under pressure to rip that green jacket, right? Not a, hey look over here: you know who had a serious back injury that had him on the outside of the top 100 looking in just a couple of years ago and nearly skipped this tourney altogether this year? This guy, that’s who!

Although he’d have every right to be spitting that, there’s none of it. The man just ripped one of the most coveted trophies in all of sports but virtually none of the tweets are about him and nearly all are about the guy he beat. So, let me give huge respect to Danny Willet.  One, for showing up like a madman on Sunday and winning. But also, for not snapping about the lack of respect he’s getting for it. Because if I’m Willet – I’m saying, Yeah that’s a crazy story that Jordan Spieth collapsed. You know who DIDN’T collapse? ME.  Yeah, I suppose that 67 just shot itself! Spieth dropped 6 shots in 3 holes? I birdied 3 of the final 6? Who wants to interview me??  Want to ask me about the bogeys I had to overcome on Sunday? Too bad. There weren’t any! Want to touch my jacket? Want me to get you into Butler Cabin? Want to hear what I’ve got planned for the menu next year? Anybody?

I’m into it, Dan. In fact let me first properly address you with your government, like a Masters champ – Daniel John Willett.  He was the best golfer at Augusta yesterday. And he sure as hell didn’t back into this. 5 under on Sunday at Augusta is no joke. Hopefully when he’s introduced for the rest of his life as a Masters Champ, the reaction won’t be, “Oh yeah. That’s the one Jordan Spieth gift-wrapped for him.” And if so, that’s weak. Spieth may have imploded, but Danny Willett won that one every bit as much as Jordan Spieth lost it. He’s didn’t slide in the back door. He slipped on the green jacket. He deserved it. He earned it. Get over it. Give him credit. Huge respect to Daniel John Willlet.

Bad Take, ODB

Odell Beckham Jr is a playmaker. But he’s convinced himself that he’s also a star maker. And he’s wrong. Speaking to GQ, it actually sounds like he’s taking credit for Josh Norman’s career, quote: “The reason he’s

Jets v. Fitzfatrick

This is as Jets as it gets. Less than a week from now, they’ll be on the practice field. And it looks like their alleged starting quarterback will be on the golf course. That’s where Ryan Fitzpatrick is
