The Los Angeles Rams leapfrogged nearly half the league to acquire the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft via a trade with the Tennessee Titans, the Titans announced on Thursday.

In exchange for the top pick, the Titans receive the Rams’ original first-round pick at 15th overall, two second-rounders (43rd and 45th overall) and a third-round selection (76th). The Titans will also get the Rams’ first- and third-round selections in next year’s draft.

According to data provided to FanGraphs by Baseball Info Solutions, the Padres used some type of shift 58 times through their first nine games, 15th-most in the majors. In 2015, they also ranked 15th but averaged just under five shifts per game. And while it may look like San Diego is merely keeping up with the times, the club has been shifting against both left-handed and right-handed hitters, within at-bats (depending on the count) and based on the pitcher on the mound.
