T.J. Oshie talks Stanley Cup Playoffs on The Jim Rome Show

With a 3-0 lead over the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Washington Capitals right winger T.J. Oshie is smart enough to know the series isn’t over yet, but the first year Capitals forward is also confident enough to believe this team will finally get past the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 1998, and believes this Presidents’ Trophy winning team is special.

“They’ve definitely had some really good teams come through here, and obviously, fans are going to be a little frustrated by coming up short, but it does feel like a different team,” Oshie told. “I’ve never been on a team where we never really get too high or too low, and when we have adversity, it seems like everyone focuses a little more and picks up our game. So there’s definitely going to be bumps, some peaks and valleys along the way, but this team has responded really well to those things and definitely is a different team.

“I think we’re kind of setting our own history here.”

Oshie was traded from the St. Louis Blues last off-season and talked about what it’s been like playing on the Capitals’ top line with superstar Alex Ovechkin and center Nicklas Backstrom.

“It’s been great. Ovi, obviously everyone sees the number he puts up. You don’t see how much he cares about the team, how much he wants to make the right plays, and he appreciates when guys do it,” Oshie said. “Backstrom in the middle there, one of the best and most pure passers I’ve played with or seen play.”

The shootout star of the United States’ Olympic team from the 2014 Sochi games said his job is just to blend in with the two.

“I just try to be one of the energy guys on the line, the pitching, scoring and the passing, and try to get those guys the puck,” Oshie said. “So it’s been great. I think we’ve meshed very well, and the postseason has been going pretty good as well.”

Bad Take, ODB

Odell Beckham Jr is a playmaker. But he’s convinced himself that he’s also a star maker. And he’s wrong. Speaking to GQ, it actually sounds like he’s taking credit for Josh Norman’s career, quote: “The reason he’s

Jets v. Fitzfatrick

This is as Jets as it gets. Less than a week from now, they’ll be on the practice field. And it looks like their alleged starting quarterback will be on the golf course. That’s where Ryan Fitzpatrick is
