The San Diego Padres found their offense for a night in Arizona and ended up with an easy 10-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, led by HRs from Yangervis Solarte from both sides of the plate.
Matt Kemp and Derek Norris chimed in with HRs of their own, and all nine starters for the Padres finished the game with at least one hit. Most of the damage was done against starting pitcher Robbie Ray and reliever Josh Collmenter, who combined to give up 9 earned runs in 5 innings pitched.
Keith Hessler and Luis Perdomo came in for some mop-up duty out of the bullpen, giving up all 3 runs in 2 innings of work, after a stellar performance by starter Christian Friedrich. Friedrich scattered 3 hits and 1 walk over 7 scoreless innings in just his third start with the Padres.
The Padres will hope to repeat their strong offensive performance against the Diamondbacks tomorrow night in Arizona, with a 7:10pm first pitch.
