Chargers Agree to Contract Extension with Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen is, undeniably, the #1 Wide Receiver on the San Diego Chargers. Today, he signed a four-year contract extension with the team that paid him as such.

2016 will be the final year of Allen’s rookie contract, which will pay him about $2.8 million over four seasons. He is now locked up to spend at least the first eight years of his career with the Chargers, and his new deal is rumored to be for about $11 million per year.

Allen has missed 11 regular-season games in his first three seasons, including 8 games missed in 2015 after sustaining a kidney injury on a touchdown catch. In those 8 games played, Allen averaged 8.4 catches and 90 receiving yards per game.
