Ben Simmons: “I can definitely see myself playing point”

Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Brett Brown has been faced with the temptation of playing 6’ 10” Ben Simmons at the point guard position. Simmons, the first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, joined The Jim Rome Show on Monday and said he plans on having success at point when Brown gives him the green light, whenever that time may be.

“I can definitely see myself playing point,” Simmons said. “I’ve been doing a little bit of point guard duties this Summer League, and I’m enjoying it. I think I’m getting a lot better at it, so I think when the time comes, and he’s ready to put me there, I think I can do well.”

Recently drafted Chicago Bulls rookie Denzel Valentine dubbed Simmons a “mini-LeBron.” Simmons is flattered by the comparison, but the Australian says he’s not buying into it.

“It’s an honor, but he’s on another level. That’s the greatest player in the world,” Simmons said. “I have a lot of work to do to get close to that. I’m my own player; I play a lot different to LeBron. He does a lot of stuff that obviously I don’t do. I think it’s nice to hear those things, at the same time, I have a completely different game.”

Being the consensus #1 recruit in the country a year ago out of high school, Simmons decided to go to a non-traditional powerhouse in LSU. Having finished 18-14 and not making the NCAA Tournament in his only college season, Simmons still doesn’t regret his decision to attend the university and doesn’t bother with the people who questioned his decision.

“You just go to play through it. You can’t worry about what people are saying. You got to stick with your team, push through it,” Simmons said. “I don’t regret my decision going there. I learned a lot about myself and just different situations, so I was glad to be a part of that family.”

Bad Take, ODB

Odell Beckham Jr is a playmaker. But he’s convinced himself that he’s also a star maker. And he’s wrong. Speaking to GQ, it actually sounds like he’s taking credit for Josh Norman’s career, quote: “The reason he’s

This is as Jets as it gets. Less than a week from now, they’ll be on the practice field. And it looks like their alleged starting quarterback will be on the golf course. That’s where Ryan Fitzpatrick is
