Giancarlo Stanton wins MLB Home Run Derby – USA Today
The All-Star Home Run Derby couldn’t have asked for a better matchup in this year’s final: Defending champion Todd Frazier vs. the Sultan of Statcast, Giancarlo Stanton.

In the end, Stanton’s raw power trumped Frazier’s Derby experience as the Miami Marlins slugger prevailed with relative ease, winning 20-13.

Tim Duncan announces retirement – Sports Illustrated
Longtime Spurs star and five-time NBA champion Tim Duncan announced on Monday that he will retire after 19 seasons.

Duncan, 40, saw his effectiveness decline during his last season, particularly during the playoffs, when he averaged the lowest minutes and points of his career.

Draymond Green arrested for assault in Michigan – Sports Illustrated
Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested for assault Sunday in East Lansing, Mich., police confirmed to ESPN.

Green was released on $200 bail, and has 10 days to be arraigned. According to police, the forward was involved in an altercation inside a restaurant around 2:30 a.m. local time. There were no injuries.
