Padres Trade Matt Kemp To Braves
The San Diego Padres found a buyer for Matt Kemp this weekend, trading him to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for failed Cuban prospect Hector Olivera, who the Padres are expected to DFA on Tuesday when they’re allowed to. The move saves the Padres about $30 million.

Clemens hurt as Padres fall in finale to Reds –
Reds rookie left fielder Jose Peraza did his best to make Homer Bailey’s return to the mound a winning one. Peraza’s first career homer put the Reds on top early, and they’d hold on late for a tense 3-2 victory over the Padres on Sunday at Petco Park. It was Cincinnati’s fifth consecutive series win.

To fill a couple of spots on the roster, the team has signed veterans DT Bruce Gaston and CB Carrington Byndom. The 6’2/310lbs Gaston had playing time in 9 games last year between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Byndom meanwhile is returning to the Chargers after having spent a short time on the Practice Squad last season.
