Chargers OG D.J. Fluker injured, scheduled for MRI on foot

After losing backup OG Donovan Clark to a season-ending injury on Saturday night against the Arizona Cardinals, the San Diego Chargers can ill-afford a major injury to one of their starting interior offensive linemen. However, it appears the D.J. Fluker is dealing with some sort of serious injury to his right foot today.

Fluker didn’t leave the field with an injury on Saturday, so it is assumed that he injured it during practice earlier today.

D.J. Fluker was moved from Offensive Tackle to Offensive Guard before last season and ended the season having only appeared in 12 games. He battled ankle injuries and concussions throughout the season.

According to the latest Chargers depth chart, Fluker’s only backup is the aforementioned Donovan Clark. If the starter is unable to go, Kenny Wiggins would likely get the start at Right Guard with Vi Teofilo working as the main backup at both Guard spots. If the MRI results are not good, expect Tom Telesco to begin searching for a new starting Guard on other team’s rosters.
