SDSU Aztecs sign Rocky Long to 4-year extension

The San Diego State Aztecs announced earlier today as a press conference that they have signed head football coach Rocky Long to a four-year extension, locking him up through 2021.

In six seasons as the team’s head coach, the Aztecs have gone 54-26, taking part in a bowl game in each of those years. In the last two seasons, the team has gone 22-6 with wins over Houston and Cincinnati in the Las Vegas Bowl and Hawai’i Bowl, respectively.

Rocky Long is 66 years old, which has lead to some discussion that he might be eyeing retirement some time soon. However, the news of this contract extention should calm everyone down, knowing that the team has a strong head coach for the foreseeable future.
