Gulls In Flight #22: Matt Bailey/Kalle Kossila

After a one-week road trip-induced hiatus, Gulls In Flight is back at full strength as the San Diego Gulls make their final push toward the Calder Cup Playoffs! Join the “Voice of the Gulls”, Craig Elsten, along with color partner B.J. MacPherson for a complete review of the recent AHL action. San Diego is one point away from clinching a playoff berth, playing inspired hockey and continuing to succeed despite a number of key call-ups to the NHL. Craig and B.J. look back at the latest games, the call-ups of Anton Khudobin and Chris Wagner, and the recent additions of amateur try-out (ATO) players such as Kalle Kossila and Riley Cooper to the team. Hear Kalle Kossila’s first interview in San Diego, as the young center makes the jump from NCAA Frozen Four play with St. Cloud State University to the pros, scoring a goal in his first game! Then, our special player guest is the center of the hottest line on the Gulls’ club, Matt Bailey. Rebounding from a scary broken jaw at the hands of the Ontario Reign in December, Bailey is leading a two-way line with Antoine Laganiere and Corey Tropp that is doing damage game-by-game and helping lead the Gulls into the playoffs!
