Jon Jay returns to Padres after long DL stint

Padres outfielder Jon Jay, who hit .296/.345/.407 in 68 games prior to being struck in the forearm by Gio Gonzalez of the Nationals, the injury, was activated from the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday. The impending free agent hopes to finish the season strong and show the Padres and other potential big league clubs that he’s healthy and ready to compete in 2017.
