The Chargers began preparations for the 2016 season with the start of Training Camp on Saturday. Head coach Mike McCoy talked on the absence of first-round draft pick Joey Bosa, and the need for a collective improvement in the run game. Melvin Gordon talked about why he’s ready for year two in the NFL, and why he’s done talking about his disappointing rookie season. Philip Rivers said the team’s first practice didn’t feel much like a “first day,” and Jason Verrett talked about stepping up more as a leader after his Pro Bowl season last year.
