SDSU Prevails, Faces Colorado State in MW Semis

Three times equaled good times for San Diego State.
The Aztecs knocked off UNLV, 67-64, on Thursday in the Mountain West tournament.
SDSU swept the Rebels in the regular season and added another victory in quarterfinal game.
“You have to believe you are going to find a way,” Aztecs coach Steve Fisher said. “Then you have to produce.”
Fisher got production from Aqeel Quinn (21 points, five rebounds), JJ O’Brien (15, four) and Winston Shepard (12, 10).
“I made some plays, as JJ and AQ did,” Shepard said. “We live to fight another day.”
That day is today as the No. 2-seeded Aztecs will tangle with No. 3-seeded Colorado State in one of the semifinals.
The Aztecs are in the semifinals for a league-record eighth straight season, winning five of the previous appearances.
“We’re proud that we are going to be staying an extra night,” Fisher said, “and playing a game against a really good team.”
