Donna Frye speaks out on Mission Valley Stadium project

Former San Diego City Councilwoman Donna Frye released a statement earlier today, pushing for an alternate plan for the Qualcomm Stadium site. Frye urges for the land to be used for a River Park, which was a part of Scott Sherman’s plan for Mission Valley, and encourages the city to expand their planned Environmental Impact Report to include this River Park as a part of the future of the site.

Frye also questions the validity of Mayor Faulconer’s EIR, pointing out that it’s vague and could exclude the River Park altogether.

She’s one of the reasons we don’t already have a stadium. I guess she needed her name back in the press again.

She needs to stay home and make cookies for her family now she’s not in office anymore.

Always appreciate Donna Frye’s perspective. Sure, I may disagree with her, but she always acts and speaks from the heart with what she considers to be the best for her home, her city, and her neighbors. In this case I actually agree and would love to see the city pursue a multi-her arena to pursue an NAH and MLS team
