The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reached a multi-year agreement with Broadcast Company of the Americas to broadcast all of the club’s regular and post-season contests.

As the team’s official radio flagship, all San Diego Gulls games, both home and away, will be broadcast on Mighty 1090-AM or ESPN 1700-AM, as well as streamed live at www.mighty1090.com and on the team’s mobile app and website (www.sandiegogulls.com). Additionally, 15-minute Gulls pre- and post-game shows will accompany all broadcasts and regularly scheduled hockey related programing will be part of Mighty 1090’s lineup. The Coach John Kentera Show (M-F; 6pm-9pm) will feature a weekly Gulls update while weekly and monthly interviews with Gulls players, coaches and management will be featured on the Dan Sileo Show (M-F; 6am-9am), the Darren Smith Show (M-F; 12pm-3pm) and the Scott and BR Show (M-F; 3pm-6pm). Semi-monthly interviews will also be aired on 105.7FM Max Mornings with Murphy and Kim. Gulls content, including weekly ‘webisodes’ and print features, will be available on www.mighty1090.com.

“The Gulls are extremely excited to partner with San Diego’s premiere sports radio station, Mighty 1090, our local ESPN affiliate, ESPN 1700 and San Diego’s Feel Good Music station, 105.7 Max-FM,” said President of Business Operations Ari Segal. “Mighty 1090’s signal reaches deep into Orange County and Los Angeles; thus, this partnership further promotes professional hockey throughout Southern California and reinforces the connection between the Gulls and Anaheim Ducks, and our fans.”

Founded in 2003, BCA Radio operates Mighty 1090-AM (mighty1090.com), ESPN 1700-AM and 105.7 Max-FM (1057maxfm.com), and is the flagship broadcast partner of the San Diego Padres and San Diego State Athletics, as well as the Gulls. Mighty 1090-AM is a 50,000 watt signal that reaches all of Southern California.

“Broadcast Company of the Americas is thrilled to be a part of the return of professional hockey in San Diego,” said Mike Glickenhaus, President & Market Manager. “This deal involves multiple stations as well as extensive digital and social media content, utilizing many of our resources. We look forward to expanding the reach of the San Diego Gulls organization and further promoting the sport of hockey across our platforms.”

The Gulls’ radio play-by-play voice will be named at a later date.
